Mirage of Souls: Soul Hunter Mlafi

This game is a rogue-like in the same vein as the "Binding of Isacc" or "Enter the Gungeon". I helped develop it as part of FIU's Sparkdev.

You play as Mlafi, a servant of the grim reaper, to reclaim stolen souls from demonic domains.

What we have so far is an early playable proof of concept.

Controls

For Keyboard

Arrow Keys - Move

Z - Attack (Tip: If you hit with the weapon's sweet-spot you will deal more damage)

X - Shoot Arrow (Slow to recover but good for dealing damage at a distance)

C - Roll (Tip : Use this to move quickly)

Left Shift / V - Switch Item (Cycle through your item slots)

Space - Use an item in your inventory.


Contributions

-Character Design : I assisted the art team with character designs. Creating Mlafi's design and giving input into enemy design.

-Sprite Art: I created Mlafi's sprites and animations, alongside sprites for items and the user interface.

-Player Controls: I developed the player movement, attack, and animation systems.

-UI: I helped design and implement a quick and effective user interface.

-Inventory Management: I implemented an inventory management system that allows the player to collect and use consumables.

-Item Effects: I implemented the the effect of items. Projectiles, areas of effect, and healing.

-Game Mechanics: I contributed to the design of multiple game mechanics such as item effects and the sweet-spot on Mlafi's attack.
